A member of the Oklahoma City Obedience Training Club for 20 years, I also worked with veterinarian Claude A. Tigert, DVM for 7 years, bred and showed shelties for 30 years (with 28 champions to our credit!). At the insistence of my friends, I became an AKC specialty judge for shelties in 1984. It has been my pleasure to judge all over the United States, including twice at the huge Sheltie National Show, as well as the Canadian National, and I have even had the honor and adventure of judging in Japan!
Since my heart has been so very much with rescue the past several years, I retired from judging in 2010, having served as a judge for 25 years. Our own current dogs came from rescue, with two having endured years in puppy mills. I try to give my support to as many quality rescue organizations as I can. I love our little rescue dogs every bit as much as I did our wonderful champions!
